Tomorrow, Wednesday March 20, Potassi K19 opens Catalan artist, Clara S. Prous’s first exhibition at the gallery, a collection of oil paintings on canvas inspired by Grand Theft Auto V.
“Clara was born in Barcelona in 1991. She studied illustration at the Barcelona Industrial School and then trained in post-production at the Espai School in Barcelona. To work in a 3D studio she went to Liége (Brussels). but she returned. The beer in Belgium is not bad, but the weather was very bad and it was a bit of an uphill struggle.
In those Belgian nights, cold and bored, Clara took refuge in her notebook and her colours. After a few years without painting, she created sketches of people that came out a bit deformed. Ugly, Badly Done. But they connected with her because they were fresh, real and direct. These characters, with expressionist lines and impossible angles, have become the central element of her style. And what a style.
It is important that you buy many original works from Clara because her goal is to get rich. There is nothing Clara likes more than money. Money drives poor Clarita crazy. She has a real obsession with coins, banknotes, credit cards... She is a brilliant person. Behold, her works are incredible, but they are only a means for what she truly pursues (that is not aesthetics or artistic excellence): money.
